Nestled in the heart of Oxfordshire, Aynho Park’s 17th-century manor house now gracefully houses RH, a place for luxurious home furnishings. Within the estate, The Orangery, a captivating 18th-century glass-walled extension, has been transformed into a fine-dining restaurant, offering views of the grand estate.

To ensure year-round comfort for diners and staff in this fine-dining space, SPC’s unobtrusive Metropolitan Fan-assisted Trench Heating and Cooling units were strategically installed beneath The Orangery’s towering arched windows. This discreet solution effectively combats solar gain and heat loss, maintaining a consistently comfortable temperature, all thanks to Fan-assisted Trench Heating.

In total, 11 runs of trench heating were installed, with runs of 1500mm and 1800mm and widths of 270mm. The installation was carried out by Oxford Pipework Services.

Fan-assisted trench heating works by drawing cool air down through the grilles and into the trench unit. The air then passes through a coil/heat exchanger, picking up heat and circulating it over the windows. The warmed air then circulates around the room before cooling and falling to the floor.

Metropolitan Fan-assisted trench units were chosen for their seamless integration into The Orangery’s design. Their low profile eliminates visual clutter, preserving the historical integrity of the building, while the black convector grilles complement the Orangery’s aesthetic, blending seamlessly with the existing architecture.
