Belgravia Classic Fan Convectors
Named after its traditional design, SPC’s Belgravia Classic Fan Convectors have been a fixture in schools nationwide for many decades. Similar to the Belgravia Supreme Fan Convectors, these Fan Convectors feature a sturdy casing that can withstand the demands of school environments.
Available in four widths, the Belgravia Classic Fan Convector come in various styles and can be used for exposed/cased or recessed/concealed applications as well as Active LST and condensing boiler/heat pump variants.
The Belgravia Classic Fan Convectors deliver up to 16.3kW of heat output at standard operating conditions and come with standard thermostats and switches.

Vertical
Vertical Fan Convectors are used for low-level floor/wall applications.

Horizontal
Horizontal Fan Convectors are either exposed/cased for ceiling-mounted applications or recessed/concealed for ceiling void applications.

Inverted
Inverted Fan Convectors are used for high-level wall-mounted applications.

Recessed
For alcove applications, where the front of the unit is flush with the adjacent walls.

Frequently Asked Questions
The Classic has a traditional rectangular casing profile with clean lines, making it suitable for offices, commercial buildings, churches, libraries, and heritage projects where the rounded-edge design of the Supreme is not required. Both models deliver up to 16.3kW heat output in the same four sizes. The Classic offers a wider range of available styles and configurations, including a recessed variant for alcove applications. For safety-critical environments like schools, SEN facilities, or healthcare settings, the Supreme with its fully rounded edges and Active LST option is the better choice.
Yes, but you must specify the correct coil option. The standard coil is designed for boiler supply temperatures around 80°C. For heat pump systems operating at 45–50°C, you need either the enhanced coil (for standard flow rates) or the lowflow coil (for systems with low flow rates and large temperature differential). Both options are available for the Classic. The enhanced and lowflow coils maintain meaningful heat output at low water temperatures without oversizing the unit or requiring excessive flow rates. Contact SPC’s technical team if you’re unsure which coil suits your system.
Yes. The Belgravia Classic is available with SPC’s Active LST control system, which monitors the outlet grille and top panel temperature and modulates an independent control valve to keep the surface temperature at or below 43°C. This meets NHS guidelines and Department for Education guidance for accessible heating surfaces. Active LST is factory-fitted and requires no additional pipework or wiring. However, for safety-critical environments, the Supreme, with its rounded-edge casin,g is typically the preferred specification even when Active LST is fitted to both models.
The Classic is available in four mounting configurations: Vertical (low-level floor or wall-mounted, the most common installation), Horizontal (ceiling-mounted, either exposed/cased or recessed/concealed for ceiling voids), Inverted (high-level wall-mounted, blowing air downward), and Recessed (for alcove applications where the front of the unit is flush with adjacent walls). All configurations are available in four widths. Extended casings are available to house control valves within the unit casing itself. The Recessed variant is unique to the Classic and not available on the Supreme.
Yes. While the standard finish is white casing with white or black grilles (RAL 9010), the Classic can be powder-coated in any RAL colour to match your interior design. We have supplied units in custom colours for churches, heritage buildings, and design-led projects where the heating needed to blend into a specific colour palette. Contact our sales team with your RAL code for a quotation.
The Classic’s traditional rectangular profile and clean lines make it visually appropriate for listed buildings, churches, and heritage projects where a modern, rounded design would look out of place. The units can be powder-coated to match existing interior colours, and the vertical low-level mounting means they can replace old radiators or natural convectors without major building work. Fan convectors also heat intermittently occupied spaces like churches much faster than traditional radiator systems, which is important for buildings that are only heated a few hours per week.
