Tesco continues to invest in renewable energy and low-carbon technologies to reduce emissions across its stores and distribution centres. The retailer is trialling renewable heating solutions as part of its drive to phase out traditional heating systems.

SPC manufactured and supplied two Electric CiRRUS Ci5 Unit Heaters, designed to deliver reliable electric heating while helping Tesco cut carbon emissions.

SPC manufactured and supplied four Electric CiRRUS Ci5 Unit Heaters, each designed for reliable, efficient electric heating while allowing seamless BMS integration.

• Mounting: UM Unistrut mounting – suitable for unistrut type support
• Control: RS4B two-speed rocker switch mounted on the side of each unit
• BMS Integration: BMS1/O/VFC control option enabling the units to be switched ON/OFF via external volt-free contacts
• Front panel: SLFP standard louvre front panel
• Finish: SWF standard white paint finish

The order was placed in early 2025, and the units were installed on the ground floor bulk store area, providing a robust and flexible heating solution.

The installation, carried out by 24/7 Group, provides the Tesco Mold store with an electric heating system fully controllable via the Tesco BMS, aligning with the retailer’s wider decarbonisation strategy and demonstrating the role of electric HVAC technology in reducing carbon emissions across large retail environments.
