Marlborough College, established in 1843, is a leading independent co-educational full boarding school located in Wiltshire, UK.
SPC was contacted by Skelly & Couch, the building services consultants for this project. They approached us with a specific heating and acoustic design brief that needed to be fulfilled. The project’s initial phase, which is now complete, involved the construction of seven new teaching laboratories and a biology preparation room.
SPC’s perforated free-hanging radiant panels were chosen and have been installed in the new science rooms, by mechanical installers Lawton BES. The perforated radiant panels in the laboratories will help absorb sound whilst also heating the space, keeping the pupils and teachers warm!
Phase two of the project, which is currently underway, will see the construction of five new teaching laboratories and a physics preparation room.
Marlborough College said;
“SPC, worked alongside our Architect, M&E Consultant and Mechanical Contractor teams to provide a system that covered all of our thermal and acoustic requirements, whilst keeping within the design intent. We are happy with the resulting installation which is not only functional and economical but aesthetically pleasing.”
