The Ashmolean Museum is one of the oldest public museums in the world, and it houses one of the most important collections of art and artefacts in the United Kingdom. In order to provide a comfortable and welcoming environment for visitors and staff, the museum recently installed a system of wall-mounted radiant panels.
For the Museum, SPC supplied a range of bespoke radiant panels that were designed to blend in with the existing décor. The panels are mounted on the walls and provide a gentle, radiant heat that is perfect for keeping visitors and staff comfortable, even on the coldest days.
Over 30 wall-mounted radiant panels were installed in the Museum by local installers, Darnells Ltd. The panels were painted by the customer to match the aesthetic of the area. The radiant panels are fixed to the wall using Unistruts and angled wall mounting brackets. All panels are finished with aluminium edge trimming.
The installation of the new radiant heating system was a success, and the museum has reported a significant improvement in the comfort of its visitors and staff. The system is also very efficient, and the museum expects to save significant money on its energy costs.
