42 Park End Street, in the centre of Oxford, is a refurbishment of the former Warehouse Nightclub. Nuffield College plan to transform the area around Frideswide Square into a new social sciences quarter. This refurbishment represents the beginning of the plan.
CBG Oxford, the building services consulting engineers, selected SPC powered Metropolitan Trench Heaters to provide heating to the spaces. The interior of the building has been transformed into a series of office/meeting rooms. The use of Trench Heating provides an unobtrusive heat source allowing walls to be free.
Each space has its own wall-mounted temperature sensor/speed controller also supplied by SPC as there is no dedicated BMS on the project. The room user sets the required room temperature and the fans modulate automatically to achieve this. The Trench Heater fans are whisper quiet in operation and operate typically 25dba @ 2m.
The standard aluminium grille (satin silver) with matching trim was selected for the project to complement the interior of the building.
